Ted is starting to get depressed now – there is only one more car boot sale this year! They will start again next Easter. “O me miserum,” he said.
Framed Batik Design: £8
A beautiful wooden-framed, vibrant Batik design, 56½” by 17¼” (excluding the frame). This highly desirable, potentially valuable piece of art was offered at £10, but Ted, using his psychology, guile and well-practised facial expressions, managed to get it for only £8 – and his wife likes it too!
The design contains many faces in various styles.
In due course, Ted intends to sell this at Sotheby’s, but this may be many years hence.
History of the Motor Car: £2
Dating from the 1960s, and sold by the original owner who was having a procrastinated clear-out, the 23 volumes of this magazine are a delight. In fact, there are actually 24 of them, because there is an index too!
This serendipitous purchase works out at only 8.33p per magazine.
